Modesty Matters is a business that takes advantage of modern technology by using it as a very effective way to teach. Most people learn better through one sensory input or another. For example, there are "auditory learners." This means they learn better by hearing a new concept. There are also "visual learners" who learn better by seeing a new concept. Then, there are "kinesthetic learners" who learn by doing.
We combine all three of the major learning styles as we teach sewing by using our customary approach of written text, illustrations, and DVD instruction.
On DVD, we tell you how, show you how, and have you do each project along with us. The accompanying CD contains the MAC and PC friendly printable and re-printable pattern(s) and instructions.
We do lots of close-ups so you can see exactly what we are talking about. The DVD's are self-paced, meaning you can go as fast, or as slow as you'd like. You can back up and review, or jump ahead at any time.
Q - If this is about sewing, then what's up with the title of the business?
A - Well, in short, I have a little girl who means the world to me. I was willing to accept whatever was available for myself in terms of fashion...until I had a baby girl. Then, the whole world looked different to me. I desperately wanted to keep the "little" in my girl, and to protect her at the same time. Modesty doesn't = frumpy (at least it doesn't have to), but it does mean that all of the appropriate parts are covered and thereby not drawing attention.
